Steamforged Games have announced that it will partner with designer Jagex for the purpose of bringing RuneScape to tablets later this year. The MMORPG will receive not just one, but two new tabletop editions: a board game and a tabletop role-playing game. The board game will launch on Kickstarter sometime this year, and the tabletop version will head straight to stores.
The two games draw inspiration from RuneScape's fantasy world, Gielinor. The game will use all the stories, characters as well as locations which the MMORPG has made famous through its lengthy history. The game on the board will take up to five players in an adventure based on quests through the landscape of Gielinor.
Based on the release made by Steamforged, players can "craft and rs07 fire cape service upgrade equipment as well as upskill their characters cook up special recipes, connect with NPCs, and test their abilities while exploring different parts of the globe". Like the game, players will encounter side-quests that complete the world of the game.
